Jodi Songer Riedel
Jodi is the horticulture, foods, and advanced studies teacher at WHS. She is in her 15th year of instruction at Wakefield. Originally from Michigan, Jodi graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in horticulture science. She then moved to North Carolina and pursued her M.S. in Agriculture and Extension Education. When she isn't teaching, Jodi is the mother of a little boy (William) and a daughter (Evie Rue). She is married to another teacher and lacrosse coach, Jamie Riedel, from Heritage High School. She enjoys gardening, spending time with her family and friends, cooking, canning, and playing with her goats and chickens. Jodi is passionate about agriculture literacy. She and long-time best pal (and MSU Horticulture alum) wrote a textbook for high school students called Horticulture Today... go get one here. Kelly Michelle Foster
Kelly is the Animal, Equine, and Vet Assisting teacher at WHS. This is her fifth year teaching. Kelly grew up in Southern Maryland and went to college at NC State. GO PACK!!! She graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural & Extension Education and Animal Science.
When she isn't teaching, Kelly is most likely attempting to train her hyper active dogs or spending time outside with family and friends. Kelly enjoys visiting her grandfather's beef farm and her favorite past-time is playing softball (which she has done every year since she was 5).
